On Aug. 5, the Department of Environmental Management will be accepting material in the parking lot of Waiakea High School in Hilo.

The county will take old motor oil, poisons and other hazardous materials. Latex paint or electronics will not be accepted. Containters dropped off for disposal will not be returned.

On Aug. 12, residents can go to the West Hawai‘i Civic Center parking lot. Both events run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
