Update on July 17 at 11:45 a.m.: The telephone system at the Kona Police Station has been restored and is functioning normally.

Original post: The Hawai‘i Police Department reports that the telephone system at the police station in Kona on the Big Island is currently inoperable.

People are advised to call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency. For all non-emergency incidents, contact the department’s central dispatch at 808-935-3311 or go to the nearest police station to speak with an officer in person.

An update will be provided once the phone system is restored.
