On Tuesday afternoon, Hawai‘i Fire Department crews continue to stamp out hot spots of a brush fire in Nā‘ālehu in the Kaʻū District of the Big Island.

The blaze, which ignited on Monday afternoon, scorched 42 acres and damaged a garage and possibly some vehicles. The fire was put out Monday, but crews remained on scene throughout the night to address any flareups.

Tuesday afternoon, Deputy Fire Chief Eric Moller said crews continue to cool the perimeter. There are no reported road closures.
