Overturned vehicle closes portion of highway in Ka‘ū

A
A single-vehicle crash that resulted in an overturned pickup truck forced a portion of Highway 11 in Ka‘ū to shut down.
The highway was closed in both directions near mile marker 40 for 30 to 60 minutes as first responders cleared the road of debris.
The sole occupant of the truck self extricated and refused treatment or transport to the hospital. Hawai‘i Police Department remains on scene to direct traffic.
