Hilo High Schoolʻs Viking Band will perform in the “Showcase of Music in the Schools” on May 7. (Hilo High School website)

The “Showcase of Music in the Schools” will take place on May 7 and feature performances from groups in East Hawaiʻi.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, 323 Manono St. in Hilo.

The program:

  • Keonepoko Elementary Chorus: 10:10-10:30 a.m.
  • Hilo High School Viking Band: 10:30-10:50 a.m.
  • Waiākea High School ʻUkulele Band: 10:55-11:15 a.m.
  • Waiākea High School Band: 11:15-11:35 a.m.
  • Waiākea Intermediate School Band: 11:35-11:55 a.m.
  • Hilo High School Taiko: 12-12:20 p.m.
  • Hilo Friday Night Band: 12:20-12:50 p.m.
  • Pāhoa High and Intermediate School Ensemble: 12:20-12:50 p.m.
  • Kealakehe High School: 1:15-1:35 p.m.
  • Waiākea Intermediate School Band ʻUkulele Band: 1:40-2:00 p.m.
