Update at 9 p.m. on Wednesday: The National Weather Service has canceled the winter weather advisory for the Big Island summits.
Original post: The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Big Island summits till Thursday morning.
Live cam photos showed snow falling on Mauna Kea at 10 a.m. Wintry mix with 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible as well as a chance of freezing rain. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph are also anticipated.
The public should plan on slippery road conditions and low visibility around the summit areas.
