Kings’ Shops in Waikōloa to host Lei Day Festival

Kings’ Shops in Waikōloa will participate in the Waikoloa Lei Day Festival on April 30 to celebrate the art and history of lei-making in Hawai‘i.

Festivities will take place all day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will be held throughout the resort area at Waikoloa Beach Marriott, Queens’ Marketplace, as well as Kings’ Shops.

Events at Kings’ Shops will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Along with lei-making, there will be entertainment, a farmers’ market, food booths, giveaways and more. Performances include Kamakani O Ka Moku ‘Āina Performing Arts Academy, Nani Lim Yap & family, Kairie Music, Kenny Tagavilla, and winners of the Miss Kona Coffee Festival throughout the day.

Also, Kings’ Shops will host its first annual Kings’ Cup Cocktail Competition at 11:30 a.m. Sponsored by Kuleana Rum Works, bartenders will go head-to-head in teams of two to showcase the art of cocktail making. Audience participation will be encouraged as spectators will have the chance to sample these specialty cocktails and vote on their favorite rum cocktail.
