Parker School in Kamuela has announced the appointment of longtime educator John Colson to its Board of Directors.

Colson previously served as headmaster at Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy, founding head of school at Maui Prep Academy, and head of school at Hualālai Academy. He also served as executive director of Kīhei Charter School.

“We are thrilled to welcome John Colson to the Parker School Board of Directors,” said Stephen Dunn, head of school at Parker School. “His experience and expertise in education leadership will be an invaluable asset to our board and school community.”

In addition to his career as a school leader, Colson has also held various administrative positions, including director of institutional advancement at Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy, chief education and executive officer at Waimea Middle School, middle school principal at Kamehameha Schools – Hawaii Campus, and assistant dean of students and basketball coach at Chaminade University.

Established in 1976, Parker School educates 330 kindergarten through 12th-grade students.
