Hawai‘i County seeking board, commission applicants to fill vacancies

The County of Hawaiʻi is inviting applications from eligible individuals to fill vacancies in several boards and commissions, including the Fire Board of Appeals, the Youth Commission, the Board of Appeals (Planning), the Committee on People with Disabilities, the County Voters with Special Needs Advisory Committee, Kailua Village Design Commission (Planning), the Transportation Commission, the Pension Board, Tax Board of Review, the Leeward Planning Commission, and the Veterans Advisory Committee.

Volunteer members of these Boards and Commissions serve for staggered terms ranging from four to five years. The positions are non-compensated; however, the County will reimburse travel expenses to and from meetings.

To be considered for appointment, applicants must be U.S. citizens, residents of the State of Hawaiʻi, and cannot hold any other public office.
