The Hawaiʻi County Mass Transit Agency is holding a public hearing regarding proposed changes to its Shared-Ride Taxi Program in the Hilo urbanized area.

The meeting will be at the Aupuni Center Conference Room on March 24 at 1:30 p.m.

The draft revisions would allow the County of Hawai‘i to subsidize up to $15.40 per trip for people taking a taxi who sign up for the program and travel within a 9-mile radius from their point of origin in Hilo. This would result in the elimination of taxi coupons.
