Unpermitted 600-square-foot residence goes up in flames in Mountain View

Just after midnight on Thursday, Hawaiʻi County firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Eden Roc subdivision in Mountain View.

They arrived to a 600-square-foot residence that was fully involved with the roof collapsed.

The structure was reported to be unpermitted and vacant. There were no occupants at the building on a 1 acre property with numerous abandoned vehicles.
