The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for east-facing shores on the Big Island and other Hawaiian Islands through 6 p.m. Thursday.
A large area of high pressure northeast of the state will maintain an extended period of strong trade winds across the islands. This will keep large and rough, advisory-level surf in place along east-facing shores through Thursday, potentially extending through the weekend.
