Kailua-Kona’s Tahitian Dance competition is back.

The 10th annual Heiva I Hawai‘i will take place on Feb. 18-19 at Hale Halawai on Ali‘i Drive. Presented by Te ‘E‘a o Te Turama and Fun to Jump Kona the two-day fete will host groups from around Hawai‘i Island and share in traditional Tahitian drum dances to the melodic ‘Ahuroa.

Both days the event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Competitions start at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

On Feb. 18, the Mr. and Mrs. Heiva I Hawai‘i competition will take place as well as the start of the Tahitian Dance competition. The following day, the Tahitian Dance competition will continue with couples, drumming and senior groups.

The event will also have vendors selling local food and crafts.
