A fire hydrant flow test scheduled this week in Hilo could impact Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply customers in the affected area.
The test is scheduled between 10 and 11 p.m. Dec. 7 along Kapi‘olani Street, between Hualālai Street and Ponahawai Street. The affected area might experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test.
Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and store a container of water for their drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.
