Big Island weekly lane closures: Dec. 3-9

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announces weekly lane closures for Dec. 3-9. Lane closure schedules can change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— VOLCANO ROAD/MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11) —

1) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Volcano Road (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 12 and 15, vicinity of Ahuahu Place and N. Kopua Road, on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

2) MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single-lane closure on Volcano Road (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 13 and 16, Enos Road and vicinity of N. Oshiro Road, on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

3) MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single-lane closure on Volcano Road (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 17.8 and 22.5, Mauna Loa Drive and Kahaualeʻa Road, on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for soil boring.

4) BETWEEN VOLCANO AND PĀHALA

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 40 and 45 on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

5) PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 47 and 49 on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11) —

1) HONALO

Single-lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 113.9 and 114, vicinity of Honalo Road, on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the Kuakini Drainage Improvements.

— BAYFRONT HIGHWAY/HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) HILO

Single-lane closure on Bayfront Highway (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 4, vicinity of Mo‘oheau Park and Wainaku Street, on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for shoulder work.

2) HONOMŪ

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 13 and 15, vicinity , on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for tree cutting and mulching.

3) PĀPAʻALOA

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 22 and 24, vicinity of Maulua Bay and Pāpaʻaloa Ave, on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

4) LAUPĀHOEHOE (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 24 and 25, Pāpaʻaloa Ave. and vicinity of Piha Kahuku Road, on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— QUEEN KAʻAHUMANU HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 19) —

Single-lane closure on Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 96 and 99, Hina Lani Street to Palani Road, Saturday, Dec. 3, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and storm drain maintenance.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190) —

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 20 and 24, vicinity of Makai Golf Club, Monday, Dec.5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD/HAWI ROAD (HIGHWAY 250) —

1) KOHALA

Single-lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Highway 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 13 on Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for road resurfacing.

2) KOHALA/HAWI (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single-lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road/Hawi Road (Highway 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 14 and 19.2, vicinity of Puuhue Road and Akoni Pule Highway, on Saturday, Dec. 3, through Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting, shoulder work, and pothole patching.

— DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/SADDLE ROAD (HIGHWAY 200) —

Single-lane closure on Puainako Street in either direction between Kino‘ole Street and Kīlauea Avenue Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for tree trimming.
