The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Big Island summit until 6 p.m. for elevations above 12,000 feet.

According to NWS, there will be mixed precipitation, additional snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of around one-tenth of an inch.

Current web cams on the mauna covered in snow. However, images from Monday night show snow already sticking to the ground.

There may be periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain. These conditions could cause slippery roads for those traveling around the summits. There also may be limited visibility. Use caution while driving in these areas.
