Williams, Agonias named KTA Superstars of the Week for Nov. 9-15

Two University of Hawai‘i at Hilo basketball standouts have been named KTA Superstars of the Week for the week of Nov. 9-15.

Senior Darren Williams, who hails from Wisconsin, dropped more than 20 points in each of the Vulcans’ two season-opening wins last week, scoring a team-leading 27 points in the opener Nov. 11 against SAGU American Indian College before taking over late to put in 22 points to secure an overtime victory against the University of Alaska Anchorage on Nov. 14.

Williams also was one assist shy of a double-double against SAGU AIC.

In her first collegiate game, freshman Keristyn Agonias of Pāhoa was an efficient 8 of 10 from the field for 19 points with seven rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench during the women’s season opener against Montana State Billings on Nov. 13.

KTA Super Stores honors one male and one female Vulcan student-athlete each weak on Wednesday as its Superstars of the Week, highlighting their standout accomplishments and highlights from the prior week.
