Big Island weekly lane closures: Nov. 5-11

The state Department of Transportation announces weekly lane closures for Nov. 5-11. Lane closure schedules can change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

In observance of Election Day, Nov. 8, and Veterans Day, Nov. 11, the Highway 130 contraflow will not operate. There also will be no closures Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.

— VOLCANO ROAD/MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11) —

1) VOLCANO

Single-lane closure on Volcano Road (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 17 and 21, vicinity of S. Oshiro Road and Old Volcano Road, on Monday, Nov. 7, Wednesday, Nov. 9, and Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for boring samples.

2) PĀHALA

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 48 and 49, vicinity of Moaʻula Kaʻū Cloud Rest Coffee, on Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

3) PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 51 and 53, vicinity of Kamani Street and Kaalaiki Road, on Saturday, Nov. 5, and Sunday, Nov. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 67 and 69, vicinity of 68 Mile Road, on Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

5) CAPTAIN COOK (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 95 and 97, vicinity of Kukui O Pae Place and Haleili Street, on Saturday, Nov. 5, and Sunday, Nov. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for vegetation cutting.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11) —

Single-lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 113.9 and 114, vicinity of Honalo Road, on Monday, Nov. 7, Wednesday, Nov. 9, and Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Kuakini Drainage Improvements.

2) KAILUA-KONA

Single-lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 116 and 118, Walua Road to vicinity of Laʻaloa Avenue, on Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) PAPAIKOU

Single-lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 8, Kaʻaukai Place and Hanawi Street, Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

2) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single-lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 14.2 and 14.3, vicinity of Kolekole Stream, on Saturday, Nov. 5, through Friday, Nov. 11, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for bridge work.

3) HAKALAU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

4) ʻŌʻŌKALA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single-lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 28 and 29, vicinity of Stevens Road and Moonlight Road, Saturday, Nov. 5, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

— KAWAIHAE ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) WAIMEA

Single-lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 62 and 67, vicinity of Kahinu Place and Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

— QUEEN KAʻAHUMANU HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) WAIKŌLOA

Single-lane closure on Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 68 and 74, Kaunaoa Drive and vicinity of Waikoloa Beach Drive, Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD/PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130) —

1) KEA‘AU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Highway 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 1 and 3, vicinity of Milo Street and vicinity of Waipahoehoe Bridge, Saturday, Nov. 5, and Sunday, Nov. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

2) PĀHOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Highway 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 11 and 13, Kahakai Boulevard and Makoi Road, Saturday, Nov. 5, and Sunday, Nov. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

3) PĀHOA

Single-lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Highway 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 14 and 15, vicinity of Nunulu Road and Alaili Road, Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

Single-lane closure on Hawi Road (Highway 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 18 and 19.2, Red Cinder Road and Akoni Pule Highway, Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

2) HAWI (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Hawi Road (Highway 250) possible in either direction at mile marker 19, Banana Ranch Road and Hawi Road, Saturday, Nov. 5, and Sunday, Nov. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
