Unpermitted structure in Ocean View destroyed in early morning blaze

No injuries were reported after an unpermitted single-story wooden structure in Ocean View went up in flames early this morning.

Hawaii Fire Department responded to the blaze at 3:11 a.m. on the 92-2600 block of Ohia Drive. When they arrived on scene, crews found the appproximate 528-square-foot residence engulfed in flames. The post-and-pier building was located on a 1-acre lot.

According to HFD, the residence was unoccupied at the time and nobody was at the scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
