The state Department of Transportation announces weekly lane closures for Oct. 22-28. Lane closure schedules can change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— VOLCANO ROAD/MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (Highway 11) —

1) KURTISTOWN (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Volcano Road (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 7 and 13, Old Volcano Road and Enos Road, on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

3) PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 54 and 55, vicinity of Kaalaiki Road, on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

4) CAPTAIN COOK (WEEKEND AND WEEKLY WORK)

Single-lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 107 and 108, Rabbit Hill Road and vicinity of Nanaina Lani Place, on Saturday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

Single-lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Highway 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 113.9 and 114, vicinity of Honalo Road, on Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Kuakini Drainage Improvements.

— HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 11 and 15, vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Road/Airstrip Road and vicinity of Chin Chuck Road, Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

2) HAKALAU TO PĀPAʻALOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 14 and 21, vicinity of Kolekole Stream and vicinity of Royal Palms Estate, Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

3) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 14.2 and 14.3, vicinity of Kolekole Stream, on Saturday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for bridge work.

4) HAKALAU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

5) ʻŌʻŌKALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 27 and 29, Jardine Road and Moonlight Road, Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

6) ʻŌʻŌKALA

Single-lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 28 and 29, vicinity of Stevens Road and Moonlight Road, Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

— QUEEN KA‘AHUMANU HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) KONA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway (Highway 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 77 and 82, vicinity of Pu’u O Pōhaku Road and Kīholo Bay, on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for tree cutting.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD/PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130) —

1) KEA‘AU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single-lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Highway 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 0 and 3, Hawai‘i Belt Road and vicinity of Waipahoehoe Bridge, Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

2) KEA‘AU

Single-lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Highway 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 0 and 2, Hawai‘i Belt Road and vicinity of Opukahala Street, Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

3) PĀHOA

Single-lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Highway 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 20 and 22, Old Kalapana Road and Kaimu Chain of Craters Road, Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250) —

1) KOHALA

Single-lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Highway 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 13, vicinity of Ponoholu Ranch, Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for road resurfacing.

2) KOHALA

Single-lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Highway 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 11 and 16, vicinity of Ponoholu Ranch and Kaahulu Homestead Road, Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
