Update: Police report 17-year-old Kelis Garmon-Mercado, who was previously reported as a runaway, was located in good health Oct. 13 in Hilo.
Original story: Hawai‘i island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 17-year-old Kelis Garmon-Mercado, who was reported as a runaway.
She was last seen in the lower Puna area on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 1:15 a.m. She was wearing a white top, blue and white colored striped skirt, and a unicorn print backpack.
Garmon-Mercado is described as local, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 250 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.
Police ask anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Garmon-Mercado to contact the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
