Bacteria levels below threshold at Kailua Pier, DOH reports

A retesting of Kailua Pier by Kamakahonu Beach, fronting King Kamehameha Beach Hotel, shows bacteria levels no longer exceed threshold levels, according to the state Department of Health.

On Thursday, the DOH announced levels of 238 per 100 mL were detected during routine beach monitoring at the pier. The waters were retested and levels were back to threshold levels.
