A member of the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo women’s soccer team has earned accolades for her performance on the field last week.

Vulcan freshman goalkeeper Lolo Retsky was named Pacific West Conference Defender of the Week for the week of Sept. 5-11.

Retsky’s five saves were integral in helping the Vulcans shut out Stanislaus State of the California Collegiate Athletic Association on Sept. 10. UH-Hilo won the matchup 1-0. The Calabasas, Calif., native also got the win in the Vulcans’ 3-1 victory against San Francisco State on Sept. 8.

Along with Retsky’s honors, the UH-Hilo women’s soccer team as a whole was selected as the PacWest Team of the Week, with two key-regional wins. The Vulcans are perfect on the season so far with a 3-0 record.

UH-Hilo is taking on Regis University today (Monday, Sept. 12) in Denver and faces off against Hawai‘i Pacific University on Sept. 17 at home in Hilo. For a full 2022 schedule, click here.
