1 of 2 Runaway Teens Located in Good Health

Update: Police reported Thursday, Aug. 25, that 15-year-old Cherish Ahulau-Kaleo, who was previously reported as a runaway, was located Aug. 17 in Hilo in good health. However, no new information about the whereabouts of Jason Oharra was available.

Original story: Authorities seek the public’s help locating two teen runaways.

Jason Oharra, 15, was last seen in the area of the 1700 block of Kino‘ole Street on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 7:35 p.m., wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, blue shorts, Crocs shoes, and a gold chain with a pendant.

He is Caucasian with a light complexion, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 130 pounds, with brown medium-length hair and hazel eyes.

Hawaii police ask anyone with information on Jason’s whereabouts to call Officer Bradley Waiki at the department’s non-emergency number 808-935-3311.

The second runway, 15-year-old Cherish Ahulau-Kaleo, was last seen in the vicinity of Kawailani Street and Māmalahoa Highway, Highway 11, in Hilo on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at 3:30 p.m., wearing a black hoodie with checkers on the sleeves, pictured in the photograph, blue jeans with permanent marker writings upon it, and purple Van’s brand skater shoes.

She is described as having an olive complexion and a slim build, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 100 pounds, with shoulder-length purple and brown hair, natural color is brown, and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone who may have information on Cherish’s whereabouts to contact the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
