Spencer Park at ‘Ōhai‘ula will be temporarily closed beginning Aug. 16, due to a water line leak. If emergency repairs are successful, the park may reopen by Thursday, Aug. 18.

Parks and Recreation Director Maurice Messina said staff noticed the leak over the weekend and it’s gotten progressively worse. On Tuesday, county crews plan to dig up around the water line to assess where the leak is coming from.

“We’ll no more once we open it up,” Messina said, adding camping has been canceled for the next two days.

The public will be informed as repairs progress. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Administration office at 808-961-8311.
