A section of a Big Island roadway will be closed this week for utility work.

Kamāoʻa Road, just south of Kamāoʻa Drive, in South Point will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m-3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, so Hawaiian Electric crews can safely replace a transmission pole. The work will not require a power outage.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route to access Highway 11.

For questions or concerns, call 808-969-6666.
