COVID Weekly Update: 468 New Cases Reported on Big Island

The state Department of Health reported 3,689 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, Aug. 3, bringing the statewide total to 329,633. Twenty-one new fatalities were reported.

A total of 468 new infections were reported Wednesday on the Big Island. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 228,535
Hawaiʻi: 36,727
Maui: 37,550
Kaua‘i: 16,587
Moloka‘i: 1,205
Lana‘i: 774
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 8,255

There are currently 136 individuals hospitalized for the virus. At least 1,592 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
