Earthquakes Rattle Near Pāhala, Kamaʻehuakanaloa Seamount

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Tuesday afternoon near Pāhala.

The National Weather Service stated that no tsunami warning is in effect. The earthquake occurred at 5:46 p.m. in the Southwest Rift Zone of Kīlauea Volcano.

A magnitude-4.5 earthquake also struck at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday at the Kamaʻehuakanaloa Seamount, previously known as Lōʻihi. The National Weather Service said there also is no tsunami expected because of the quake.
