HPD Investigates Several Shots Fired at LSD Over Weekend

Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying individuals responsible for shooting a firearm several times while at the Kawaihae LST Landing beach area, also known as LSD, on Sunday, July 17.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:48 p.m. An Allied Security officer reported to Hawai‘i police that an unknown person told security personnel a group of several people was firing a pistol while at LSD beach. Allied Security staff told everyone to leave the area and once the area was clear, they located approximately 17 9mm casings at the far end of the beach.

No injuries were reported.

Police ask anyone who may have information about this incident to call the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
