Update: Kuakini Highway between Seaview Circle and Lako Street in Kona is now open. Police thank the public for its patience and encourage motorists to drive safely.
Original story: The Hawai‘i Police Department reports at 5 a.m. Sunday, July 24 that Kuakini Highway in Kona is closed between Lako Street and Seaview Circle due to a motor vehicle accident. Use Ali‘i Drive as an alternate route. Expect several hours for this closure.
Motorists will be informed of any changes.
