The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of road and lane closures for July 23-29. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —

1) KEA‘AU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 5 and 7, Ikaika Street and Keaau Loop, on Saturday, July 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder restoration.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 54 and 56, Ka‘alaiki Road and Hilea Road, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for mowing with side arm.

2) CAPTAIN COOK (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 94 and 96, Ahe Kolo Place and Kaohe Road, on Saturday, July 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation trimming.

3) CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 93 and 95, Ohia Malu Road and Kukui o Pae Place, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for mulching of trees and shrubs.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 6, Kulana Kea Drive and Ka‘aukai Place, on Saturday, July 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for tree trimming, mulching, and shoulder restoration.

2) HILO

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 5, Kulana Kea Drive and Kahoa Place, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for tree trimming and mulching.

2) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, July 23 through Friday, July 29, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

3) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. 

— KALANIANA‘OLE AVENUE (ROUTE 19) —

1) KEAUKAHA

Single lane closure on Kalaniana‘ole Avenue (Route 19) possible in either direction between Kamehameha Avenue and Ka‘uhane Avenue, nightly from 7 p.m. Monday, July 25 through 5 a.m. Thursday, July 28, for the Kalaniana‘ole Avenue Reconstruction. 

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD/ PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) KEA‘AU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Keau‘u-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 0 and 2, Volcano Road to vicinity of Opukahala Street, Saturday, July 23 and Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for tree trimming, mechanical mowing, and shoulder restoration.

2) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 10 and 12, Niaulani Street and Ka‘ohe Homestead Road, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

3) PĀHOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 12 and 15, Ka‘ohe Homestead Road and Alaili Road, Saturday, July 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for mowing with side arm.

4) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— OLD KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 139) —

1) KEA‘AU

Single lane closure on Old Keau‘u-Pāhoa Road (Route 139) possible in either direction between mile marker 0 and 1.2, Volcano Road to Keaau-Pahoa Road, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for mechanical mowing and shoulder restoration.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.

— ‘AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

1) KAWAIHAE (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on ‘Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 5, Ka‘ewa Place and Kohala Ranch Road, Saturday, July 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation trimming and shoulder restoration.

2) KAWAIHAE

Single lane closure on ‘Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 8, Leie Naia Drive and vicinity of Kaupalaoa, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for vegetation control with side arm unit.
