Update: HPD reported Kawaihae Road in South Kohala, which was closed earlier due to a vehicle collision, is now open in both directions, the county reported at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 19.

Kawaihae Road, or Route 19, is closed near mile marker 66 due to a traffic crash.
Hawaii police estimate the road will be closed for at least three hours. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
