Veterans Court Celebrates Sole Graduate at 20th Commencement

The Big Island Veterans Treatment Court in Kona celebrated its 20th commencement earlier this week by honoring its sole graduate David Riehle.

On Monday, July 11, Riehle was joined by his family and loved ones as he was honored for successfully completing and graduating BIVTC.

Riehle joined the Navy and became a Seal after graduating from Konawaena High School. He served his country honorably.

After the military, he struggled with substances. However, he participated in the Big Island Veterans treatment court, he received medical and various services from Veteran Affairs services.

Veterans Court officials say Riehle He is doing much better now and has reconnected with his family and community.

Riehle was raised in Kona. During high school, he participated in football, basket and track.
