Suspect

Big Island police are asking the public for help with identifying a suspect in a shoplifting case in South Kohala.

The Hawai‘i Police Department is looking for a male suspect responsible for a July 10 theft at a South Kohala convenience store.

Police report that shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, South Kohala patrol officers responded to the store on Opelo Road after the owner reported he observed on surveillance footage from earlier that day a male reach over the counter and remove two containers of vape liquid from a display stand. The suspect, who was wearing tan long pants, a brown long-sleeved hoodie and gray shoes, then left the store on foot in an unknown direction.
