About 50 members of Maui’s Upcountry hunting community stood in demonstration on Sunday against HogStop feed, a feral pig feed and contraceptive available for use by private land owners on O’ahu and in the islands.

The group gathered at the intersection of Kula Highway and Makawao Avenue to voice their opposition to the concept of sterilizing a wild food resource, a press release from organizers stated.

Those who attended the rally communicated disappointment in the local distributor of the product as well as their dissatisfaction with State of Hawai‘i government leaders who are allowing HogStop feed to be used.
