A wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday for portions of the Big Island.
According to the National Weather Service, east winds of 20 to 30 mph with localized gusts to 50 mph are expected for leeward west Kohala and the Big Island interior.
Winds this strong can knock down tree branches, blow away tents and unsecured objects, and make it difficult to drive, especially for high profile vehicles.
Watch out for falling tree branches when walking or driving. Make sure tents and awnings are secure or take them down. Be prepared for power outages.
