COVID Weekly Update: 578 New Cases Confirmed on Hawaiʻi Island
The state Department of Health reported 5,362 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, June 29, bringing the statewide total to 308,695. Fifteen new fatalities were reported.
A total of 578 new infections were reported Wednesday on the Big Island. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
- O‘ahu: 214,416
- Hawaiʻi: 34,144
- Maui: 35,119
- Kaua‘i: 15,662
- Moloka‘i: 1,142
- Lana‘i: 763
- Pending: 0
- Out-of-State: 7,449
Of those total cases, 10,135 required hospitalization, with 196 currently hospitalized. At least 1,504 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
