Several areas of Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park in Kona will be temporarily closed Monday, June 27, during helicopter operations to remove invasive, non-native vegetation at the park.

Temporary closures of Kaloko Road, the Kaloko parking lot and picnic area, portions of the Coastal Trail between Huehue Trail and the northern boundary and the trail behind Kaloko Fishpond will take place from 6-11 a.m. Monday.

The reason for the closure is to provide public safety during the helicopter operation.
