The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of road and lane closures for June 25 to July 1. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —

1) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 3, E Puainako Street and E Palai Street, on Saturday, June 25 through Sunday, June 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grading shoulders and shoulder restoration.

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 3 and 7, E Palai Street and Keaau Loop, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching and shoulder work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) PĀHALA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 53 and 56, Maile Street and Ninole Loop Road, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

2) PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 56 and 58, Nīnole Loop Road and Alanui Road, on Saturday, June 25 through Sunday, June 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

3) CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 94 and 95, Ahe Kolo Place and Kukui O Pae Place, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching and grass cutting.

4) CAPTAIN COOK (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 103 and 104, Ki‘ilae Road and Telephone Exchange Road, on Saturday, June 25 through Sunday, June 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching and grass cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 5, Wainaku Street and Kahoa Place, on Saturday, June 25 through Sunday, June 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

2) HILO

Left lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 6.3, Road G, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for repairing the sewer force main.

3) HAKALAU

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

4) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. 

5) O‘OKALA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 28 and 29, Stevens Road and Moonlight Road, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD/ PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) KEA‘AU

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Highway 130 intersection with Hawai‘i Belt Road and Kea‘au High School, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work and mulching trees.

2) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.

— ‘AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

1) KOHALA

Single lane closure on ‘Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 3 and 7, Kailapa Street and Ka‘ala Road, on Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work and tree trimming.

2) KOHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on ‘Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 7, Lele Naia Drive and Ka‘ala Road, on Saturday, June 25 through Sunday, June 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work and restoration.
