Sunday, June 19, the Glenwood Transfer Station sustained damages from a fallen tree and will be closed to the public until further notice, the County of Hawai‘i stated in a news release on Monday.
Residents who normally take their household-generated wastes to the Glenwood Transfer Station on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday may instead use the Volcano Transfer Station (open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday) or other facilities for their disposal needs.
