The state Department of Transportation announced its weekly list of road and lane closures for June 18-24. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —

1) HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 3, E Puainako Street and E Palai Street, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grading shoulders and shoulder restoration.

1) PĀHALA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 56 and 58, Nīnole Loop Road and Alanui Road, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

2) CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 103 and 104, Ki‘ilae Road and Telephone Exchange Road, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching and grass cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) HILO

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction in the vicinity of mile marker 2.5, Wailuku Stream Bridge from Shipman Street to Iliahi Street, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for bridge improvements.

2) HILO

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 5, Wainaku Street and Kahoa Place, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

3) HAKALAU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, June 18 through Sunday, June 19, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

4) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) PAHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.

2) KAMUELA

Right lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) in the southbound direction near mile marker 5.6, in the vicinity of Saddle Road, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for construction of a new access road.

— ‘AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

1) KOHALA

Single lane closure on ‘Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 7, Lele Naia Drive and Ka‘ala Road, on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work and restoration.
