A portion of Kawili Street in Hilo is closed this morning due to a trash fire. The closure is expected for the next three hours.
A garbage truck has had to dump trash which caught fire onto the roadway in this area between Laukapu and Hinano Streets. Motorists are being detoured to E. Lanikaula Street.
Hawaii Police Department advises motorists to avoid Kawili Street.
