Hawaiʻi County Department of Public Works Engineering Division, alongside Jas W. Glover, Ltd, will be working on Hurricane Lane Damage Repairs to the Laupāhoehoe Culvert.
There will be alternating road closures from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Manowaiopae Stream and Old Māmalahoa Highway from Monday, June 13-17. All local traffic will be allowed through the Kuwaikahi Stream and Old Māmalahoa Access Road.
The following week, June 20-24, Kuwaikahi Stream and Old Māmalahoa Access Road will be closed, and all traffic will be allowed through Manowaiopae Stream and Old Māmalahoa Highway access road. The alternating week road closures will continue until Aug. 23. Flaggers and/or officers will be directing traffic, and message boards will be posted on Hawai‘i Belt Highway.
