New Infectious Disease Specialist Lands in West Hawai‘i

Dr. Clayton Foster, MD, is working as a new infectious disease specialist in West Hawai‘i, Ali‘i Health Center announced in a press release Tuesday, June 7.

Foster, who earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama, will be providing quality, patient-centered care with a focus on expanding access to infectious disease expertise using telemedicine, the release stated.

After earning his medical degree, Foster completed his residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Colorado. After three years in traditional infectious disease practice, Foster created a solo-telemedicine practice in Denver. Following a visit to Hawai‘i Island in the summer of 2021, he and his wife, Kelly, decided to relocate.

Board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease, Foster is working with Ali`i Health Center and Kona Community Hospital.

He lives in Kailua-Kona and enjoys hiking, snorkeling and practicing aikido in his spare time, the release stated.
