Kona Jiu Jitsu Business 1 of 27 National Grant Winners
The Hawai‘i Jiu Jitsu Academy in Kailua-Kona was recently named one of UPS’s small business grant winners.
The academy was one of 27 businesses to earn the distinction as part of UPS’s “Proudly Unstoppable” installment that spotlights the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
A list of all the winners is here.
UPS in partnership with ACE, the National Asian Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, contributed $150,000 to provide grants for AAPI-owned small businesses that were adversely affected by the pandemic.
“Our mission is to create a safe place to fail, cultivate co-elevation and synergy amongst students, and build leaders in our community,” the academy’s mission statement reads. “Whether you want to learn Jiu Jitsu for self-defense, competition, or fitness, we are here to help you achieve your goal.”
