Update: All lanes of Daniel K. Inouye Highway are now open.
Big Island police are alerting motorists that a portion of Daniel K. Inouye Highway is closed for the next two hours.
Police report that the Kona-bound lane at the 17-mile marker is closed because of a traffic collision; however, traffic can still travel in both directions.
“We are advising motorists to take caution, as emergency crews will be in the area and traffic will be slowed,” police said in an advisory.
