Military units are scheduled to conduct vehicle convoys from Kawaihae Harbor to Pōhakuloa Training Area on Saturday, May 21 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Convoys between Kawaihae and PTA are planned to minimize impacts on local motorists on Hawai‘i Island. Military leaders plan select areas along the route to pull over and allow motorists to pass safely in the interest of reducing backed-up traffic.

“While sometimes these convoys create delays, the movement of vehicles to and from ports is critical to ensure military units and service members are ready to accomplish their mission and return home safely when deployed,” officials stated.
