Update: Hawai‘i Island police reported in a media release that 71-year-old Mele Kuli of Hilo, who was previously reported missing, was located Tuesday, May 17, in good health.

Original story: Authorities are seeking the public’s help locating an elderly Hilo woman.

Seventy-one-year-old Mele A. Kuli was reportedly last seen leaving the 100 block of Kaieie Place, in the Panaʻewa area on Monday, May 16, around 4 p.m. in a 2014 gold Toyota Highlander bearing license plate ZCN988.

Kuli She was last seen wearing a gray-colored blouse and blue jeans pants.

Kuli is described as Polynesian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 235 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

Hawaiʻi police ask anyone with information on Kuli’s whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Officer Dustin Chaves at dustin.chaves@hawaiicounty.gov.
