No injuries were reported following a structure fire in Kea‘au Sunday evening.

Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to the home, located on the 16-1000 block of Honpue Road, at approximately 5:39 p.m. When crews arrived, volunteer firefighters were already on scene where a 1,632-square-foot residence had collapsed and was fully involved in flames.

Volunteers had already initiated fire attack.

No occupants were home at the time.

According to HFD, the responding fire engine couldn’t access the home due to “terrible driveway conditions.” As a result, Crews pulled approximately 800 feet of supply line to make sure attack lines had water to battle the blaze.
