HPD Investigates Auto-Pedestrian Crash in Hilo

An adult pedestrian was struck by a vehicle this morning on Hualalai Street in Hilo, officials confirmed.
According to Hawaiʻi police, the crash occurred between Ululani and Kino’ole Streets. HPD sent out an alert at 8:29 a.m. informing motorists the area was scheduled to be closed for two hours.
HPD sent out a follow-up email at 9:21 a.m. indicating the road had reopened.
At this time, officials say the crash is not fatal and is still an active investigation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
